I had a great experience at the roadhouse, which turned out to be a bit of a gem in the outback. The rooms were spacious and clean, and I appreciated the friendly staff, who were always ready to help. The bar and dining options exceeded my expectations, though the bar could have had slightly more variety. Overall, it’s an excellent spot for a family road trip, with plenty of features for kids, but there were a few small issues that kept it from being perfect.

5.4/10

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. While the location is perfect for a stopover on the way to explore the Red Centre, the rooms need some serious attention, particularly regarding maintenance and odors. I did appreciate having breakfast included, but the overall experience didn’t quite meet my expectations due to cleanliness issues in the room and management not addressing my concerns.

Rooms
5.0
The room had a sulphur smell, and I discovered sewer gas coming from the toilet seal. It was not a pleasant experience. Although there was a fridge and basic amenities, the smell really overshadowed the stay.
Service
5.0
The staff at the bar were helpful in providing me a new room, but I found the reception to be uninterested in my concerns at check-out, and there was no follow-up from management, which was disappointing.
Location
8.0
The location is convenient as a stopping point between Alice Springs and Uluru, making it a good choice for travelers. It's right on the main route, which is a plus.
Dining
7.0
The bistro meal I had was excellent, and breakfast was complimentary, which was a nice touch, but the lack of attention to detail elsewhere made it feel like a mixed experience.
Facilities
5.0
Some repairs need to be made, especially regarding the floors, which creaked a lot and prevented me from sleeping well. However, basic amenities were present.

I found this roadhouse to be a surprisingly lovely stop along my journey. The atmosphere was welcoming, and while the rooms were clean and comfortable, they could definitely use some updates. The food options were somewhat limited, especially for a vegetarian like me, and it was disappointing that there wasn't more variety available for breakfast. Overall, I appreciated the friendly service and the unique location in the desert, though it felt a bit pricey for what was offered.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were spacious, clean, and had great air conditioning, which made for a comfortable night. However, they really could do with a bit of renovation as they feel quite dated.
Service
8.0
The staff were polite and very helpful, especially in providing information about Uluru and Kings Canyon. They seemed to be a bit overworked, but they managed to keep a positive attitude.
Location
8.0
The roadhouse is right in the center of Australia, which makes it a unique stop with beautiful sunset views. However, it’s quite far from other amenities, which adds to the feeling of isolation.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was decent, but the limited options for vegetarians made it a bit frustrating. I think they could easily improve by offering fresher items for breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities included a nice bar and restaurant and a viewing platform to enjoy the sunset and stars at night, adding to the charm of the location.

We had a mixed experience at this hotel. The family motel room was spacious and comfortable, which made our stay enjoyable. We really loved feeding the emus and the portions in the tavern were generous, but the bathroom cleanliness was a big letdown. The location is great for breaking up our trip, but the amenities could use some improvements.

Rooms
8.0
The family motel room was spacious, perfect for our family of five, and the beds were comfortable.
Service
7.0
Service was generally good; check-in was prompt, and dinner at the tavern was pleasant, but no one addressed the bathroom issues.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location is ideal for a stopover while traveling between Coober Pedy and Kings Canyon, surrounded by nature.
Dining
9.0
Dinner at the tavern offered generous portions and tasty meals, which we enjoyed after a long drive.
Facilities

The amenities were clean and well-kept, though I wish there were more facilities like a dump point and a drinking water source.

I had a mixed experience at this resort. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the location was perfect for my travels. However, the amenities left a lot to be desired, and I faced some issues with cleanliness and service during my stay. Overall, it's a decent spot for travelers, especially for families, but it could use some improvements.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were comfortable but looked a bit tired. After a long day, having cold water was a slight inconvenience.
Service

While the staff seemed rushed, they were helpful. I did struggle to find a waitress at the tavern, which was frustrating.
Location
9.0
The location was excellent for visiting Uluru and the Olgas, fitting perfectly into my itinerary.
Dining
7.0
Dining at the tavern was hit or miss; the meals were substantial but could have been cooked better.
